Libertyville construction company buys California foundation contractor

Libertyville-based Aldridge Construction, a provider of heavy civil and electrical construction services nationwide, announced the acquisition of Magco Drilling Inc., a foundation contractor based in Azusa, California.

With this acquisition, Aldridge adds capabilities to a diverse portfolio including drilled shaft foundations, micropiles, anchors, displacement piles, grouting, earth retention and shoring. Along with expanded services, Aldridge acquired an equipment fleet and most importantly, many skilled and focused people.

Magco Drilling has performed technical and challenging foundation projects in the Western United States for more than 30 years. Formed by Mike Maggio, Magco has established crews and customers throughout California, Nevada and Arizona.

It's performance in the commercial, civil and industrial markets demonstrates Magco's commitment to safety and quality.

Aldridge Vice President Ed Radford said, "The addition of Magco will add further depth and breadth to an already significant portfolio of construction services. We are excited to welcome legacy Magco personnel to the Aldridge team."

Incorporated in 1952, the company specializes in complex transportation, drilling, mass transit, power and utility projects. The company employs more than 850 employees nationally and has completed projects from coast to coast.

Aldridge has been identified as one of the top 40 specialty contractors in the U.S. by Engineering News Record, working on complex projects across the country with a focus on heavy infrastructure, foundations and electrical systems.
