Sasser Family Holdings employees raise funds for MS

SCHAUMBURG - Employees from Sasser Family Holdings earlier this month participated in Walk MS, an annual event hosted by the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National MS Society.

This year's Walk MS was held at Sunset Park in Lake in the Hills.

Sasser Family Holdings employees who are part of Change for the Better, the company's philanthropic arm, raised more than $24,000, all of which will go to the National MS Society's Greater Illinois Chapter to help fund research and assist families in the state living with MS.

According to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation estimates, more than 400,000 people in the United States have MS, and about 200 new cases are diagnosed each week. Some of those living with MS include family members, friends, neighbors and colleagues.

Change for the Better team members have participated in Walk MS since 2012 and have committed to raising more than $100,000 to benefit the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National MS Society.

"The event was definitely a success and I'm proud to work for a company and with co-workers who sincerely care about helping people," said Kathie Jarzombek, license & title/tax manager for Union Leasing, part of Sasser Family Holdings. "More than 60 people came to support our specific team. Some drove from as far away as Wisconsin and Indiana to come walk with us even though the weather was horrible. To have so many people come out at 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning was very heartwarming."
