New director of sales starts at DuPage CVB

The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau said Justin Roach recently started at the agency as director of sales.

His primary task is to lead the CVB sales staff representing local stakeholders to secure and elevate the organization within the travel and tourism industry, to generate additional economic impact for the area through identified group business and utilize new marketing strategies to reach additional markets.

He most recently served in the hospitality industry as director of sports sales at Sports Planning Guide, overseeing the six members of the sales, marketing and productions staff to increased revenues of over 350 percent in four years.

Roach is an expert in various niche and group travel markets and has worked as a consultant to more than 120 convention bureaus, sports commissions, resort properties and major hotel brands. He currently serves as an advisory board member for United States Sports Congress.

While in the Air Force, he served as an airborne operations technician aboard the E-8 Joint STARS aircraft supporting troops and coalition forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan over three deployments, 64 combat missions and is the recipient of three medals for meritorious success.

After completing his enlistment with the U.S. Air Force, Roach received a degree in sports management from North Central College in Naperville.

"I am extremely thrilled and enthusiastic about this opportunity to join the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau," Roach said. "I look forward to partnering with local stakeholders and the CVB team to reach a new level of success and to have a positive and lasting impact on our communities."
