Oakton hosting small business expo March 14

Oakton Community College is hosting a small business expo from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the school's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.

The Oakton Community College Workforce Solutions event is free for local startups and established businesses. It will include guest speakers and workshops from industry experts regarding marketing, operations and home-based businesses.

Author Kevin Sheridan is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. The internationally-recognized speaker and author will focus on employee engagement, culture and leadership. His latest book, "The Virtual Manager," explores how to most effectively manage remote workers.

"The goal of the expo is to provide valuable resources and information that can benefit their businesses, whether new or existing," Director of Continuing Education, Training and Workforce Development Ruben Howard II said in a news release.

Registration is required to Beverly Projansky (bprojans@oakton.edu) by Feb. 24, and registered attendees will receive a continental breakfast and lunch.
