Hefter ranks No, 1 in state on Barron's advisor list

Steven Hefter, managing director - investments of the Hefter, Leshem, Margolis Capital Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors in the Highland Park branch, was ranked among Barron's Top 1,200 Financial Advisors for 2017.

Hefter ranked number one in the state of Illinois, as announced in the weekly magazine's March 7 issue.

The rankings are based on data provided by thousands of advisers. Factors included in the rankings were assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record and quality of practice. Investment performance isn't an explicit component.

As lead investment strategist, Hefter is responsible for asset allocation and manager selection. He founded the team in 1983 at Goldman Sachs. He has been named by Barron's as one of the top 1,200 Financial Advisors by state and ranked as the number one financial adviser in Illinois every year since 2010. He also has been listed in Barron's annual rankings of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in America from 2004 to 2017*. Hefter has a BA in Economics from Stanford University, and an MBA in Finance from Harvard University.

Hefter and his wife, Janice, serve on the board of several Midwest offices of national nonprofits. He is also a member of the national board of directors of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews
