Kane County Recycles holds event at government office

Kane County Recycles held a recycling event Saturday at the circuit clerk's office in St. Charles. Workers collected electronics, books and paint, and offered free confidential document shredding.

Most electronic items could be dropped off for free, though there was a charge for TVs and computer monitors that goes to the county's contracted electronics recycler, eWorks, a nonprofit whose main mission is to employ developmentally disabled individuals.

The next Kane County Recycles event is set for the second Saturday in May, May 13. For questions, call Kane County Recycling Coordinator, Jennifer Jarland, at (630) 208-3841, or email to recycle@countyofkane.org.
