Chicago Cubs donate $22,500 to Advocate for mammography services

Chicago Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts Wednesday presented Advocate Health Care CEO Jim Skogsbergh with a $22,500 contribution benefiting Advocate Health Care's mammography screening and breast health services programs for underserved patients during a ceremony at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The donation comes just ahead of the Cubs' Sunday, May 7, #PinkOut game honoring breast cancer survivors and raising awareness for the disease that one in eight women will develop during her lifetime.

On Sunday, Advocate is bringing together 25 breast cancer survivors and fighters, along with their families, breast health navigators and surgeons, for a day at the ballpark, including taking the field at each position and participating in an on-field pink ribbon ceremony.

The money was raised from auction sales of pink jerseys, gloves and other apparel at previous #PinkOut games.
