App reviews: Findery, The Little Fox

Findery

Findery can be your guide to adventures big and small. The app excels in highlighting points of interest in many cities, thanks to its community. Users snap a picture and add their own commentary, leaving a virtual note for other users who pass by. Sometimes the notes recommend restaurants. Other times, they point out a cool piece of street art. Think of the app as a cross between Yelp and a traditional guidebook.

If you're looking for adventures nearby, you will get the most of Findery by letting it get a read on your location. But it's also easy to look at guides for far-off places if you are looking to get away or find inspiration for your next trip. Overall, it doesn't matter how far you're able to travel to indulge your wanderlust with Findery.

Free, for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

The Little Fox

The Little Fox asks you to trot through worlds on winding paths - just make sure you don't take the road less traveled. Set one paw off the path, and you'll lose your progress. You're constantly in motion, so being able to navigate is key. Along the way, you can pick up items or pass over tiles that let you speed up, slow down or take a daring leap.

The Little Fox is ad-supported, and the ads appear often - particularly if you don't keep to the straight and narrow and have to restart frequently. You can also choose to watch ads to unlock new levels or pick up more in-game currency. The game has in-app purchases but does not require them to play.

Free, for IOS and Android.
