Batavia chamber names Fitch events, marketing director

BATAVIA - The Batavia Chamber of Commerce has appointed Catherine Fitch as special event and marketing coordinator, Fitch succeeds Lindsey Williams, who resigned July 1 to work with her husband's business.

Fitch has been an active member of the Batavia community since moving to the community in 2000. She started volunteering at Hoover-Wood Elementary School and eventually became co-PTO President. She later joined the Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence and is currently serving her third and final year as the chairwoman.

Fitch was instrumental in planning and coordinating major fundraising events for the foundation, including its golf outings and the Bowling Casino Night Events.

She received her Bachelor's degree in Communications from Michigan State University and has professionally been employed in the health insurance field for the majority of her career.
