O'Connor named vice president of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation committee

Ice Miller LLP announced attorney Martha O'Connor has been elected vice president of the Type 1 diabetes Research Foundation Young Leadership Committee (JDRF-YLC) beginning July 2017 as a result of her extensive work with the charity. The position leads to being president the following year and includes an ad hoc seat on the JDRF board. JDRF is one of Chicago's largest charitable organizations and raises millions for diabetes research each year.

The JDRF Illinois Young Leadership Committee (YLC) is a group of young business and civic professionals who actively support JDRF and Type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

The YLC is affiliated with the JDRF Illinois Chapter, the largest income-producing chapter worldwide. YLC members have unique ties to T1D - many live with it, others are connected through friends or family and some simply have a passion for the cause. The group's common thread is: we all want to turn type one into type none. The JDRF Illinois YLC seeks to create awareness of T1D in the Chicagoland area, raise money to fund critical T1D research, and build a strong network for years of ongoing T1D funding, support and education. For more information about the YLC, its events or how to join, please contact jdrfilylc@gmail.com.
