CCU to celebrate International Credit Union Day

Consumers Credit Union's nine service centers will commemorate International Credit Union Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 18.

Officers, directors, managers and staff at Waukegan-based Consumers Credit Union will be on hand to greet members and the general public. Those visiting a CCU office on Credit Union Day will enjoy a sweet treat and will receive a free gift.

Observed every year since 1948, International Credit Union Day is the time when the credit union movement comes together to celebrate what makes credit unions the best financial partners for all people.

In that spirit, the theme for 2017 is "Dreams Thrive Here," symbolizing the positive impact credit unions have on the lives of everyone in their service area, or field of membership.

"One of the fundamental goals of credit unions is to identify how we can make a difference in the lives of our Members and their families," said Sean M. Rathjen, CCU CEO. "International Credit Union Day provides an opportunity to share just how we accomplish this with both our members and others in the communities we serve."

CCU's nine locations are in Waukegan, Mundelein, Round Lake Beach, Gurnee, North Waukegan, Volo, Palatine, Schaumburg and Northbrook.
