Upgrades planned at Arlington Heights hospital's Wellness Center

The Northwest Community Healthcare Wellness Center in Arlington Heights will undergo $1 million worth of renovations, adding 100 new pieces of equipment and 5,000 square feet of training area space.

The project started last Monday and will continue through January. Phase one includes converting a basketball court into a new cardio area; phase two will create a functional training area; and phase three will update the strength area. The parking lot will also have 93 more spaces, officials said.

The center at 900 W. Central Road remains open during renovations. A grand reopening is planned for late January.
