Samsung recognizes Molex for environmental health and safety improvements

Molex Korea, an affiliate of Molex LLC, a worldwide manufacturer of electronic solutions in Lisle, has been awarded the Environment and Safety Innovation Award by Samsung.

Molex Korea is the only interconnect supplier to earn this prestigious award in Samsung's 5th annual Global EHS Innovation Competition.

"It is an honor to be recognized by Samsung for our innovative improvements designed to promote environmental excellence," said JaeHoon Lee, senior vice president and president of commercial and consumer solutions, Molex. "We share Samsung's commitment to meeting the highest standards of EHS in our manufacturing operations."

Molex Korea was one of only 13 out of 426 Samsung suppliers to successfully pass the first round of the competition. The second round involved spending a year collaborating with Samsung to improve environment and safety at the Molex Korea manufacturing site. During that time, the Molex Korea EHS team made innovative improvements in noise reduction and energy savings as well as developed and installed hundreds of safety covers preventing worker's safety incidents.

Molex Korea was the only interconnect supplier among the six suppliers recognized in the second round for their innovation and outstanding performance. The EHS Innovation Award was presented to Molex Korea on October 23, the first day of a three-day event organized by the Samsung Environment and Safety Center on the Samsung campus in Suwon, Korea. Molex Korea demonstrated its innovations at the event, attended by 2,300 suppliers and Samsung employees.
