Czech Republic's Klara Spilkova accepts special exemption to the KPMG Women's PGA Championship

Klara Spilkova of the Czech Republic has accepted a special exemption to compete in the 2018 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, June 26 - July 1, at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer.

Spilkova rose to prominence in 2017 as the first Czech Republic-born player to win a professional event when she captured the title at the Lalla Meryem Cup at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Morocco.

Spilkova, who will be making her third consecutive appearance in the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, will join an elite field that includes defending champion Danielle Kang; Major winners Brooke Henderson, Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie and many more. Spilkova currently is third in the Ladies European Tour standings, 194.75 points behind leader Jenny Haglund.

The KPMG Women's PGA Championship - a collaboration between the PGA of America, KPMG and the LPGA Tour - continues the rich tradition of the LPGA Championship. Broadcast in partnership with NBC and Golf Channel, the Championship offers a purse among the highest in women's golf. The event combines an annual major golf championship with the KPMG Women's Leadership Summit and the KPMG Future Leaders Program - all focused on the development, advancement and empowerment of women on and off the golf course.

Golf Channel will televise live the first two rounds of the 2018 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. NBC coverage of the final two rounds on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
