New chairman takes helm of Chicago Executive Airport board

A new chairman has taken the helm of the Chicago Executive Airport board of directors.

D. Court Harris, a corporate travel executive in Chicago, presided over his first meeting in late July.

Harris, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, spent six years with the U.S. Army, including a tour in Afghanistan as an American liaison to the NATO airport authority at Heart International Airport.

The service exposed him to airport operations, as well as interactions with other government agencies, vendors, contractors and local airport communities, according to a Monday news release.

Harris was appointed by Wheeling and Prospect Heights, which own the airport. He is the son of Arlington Heights Republican state Rep. David Harris.
