Roadwork starts near Lake Barrington Speedway project

Lake Barrington officials announced necessary roadwork has started at Kelsey Road and Northwest Highway to accommodate the next phase of construction on a Speedway gasoline station and cafe. Road construction on Kelsey will include adding a right-turn lane and extending a left-turn lane. In addition, the right-turn lane on Northwest Highway will be extended to create a new entrance for the Speedway. Both roads will remain partially open during construction, with flaggers in place to coordinate traffic. Drivers should expect minor traffic delays as well as light road work dust. The construction process is expected to last four weeks.

"The billage of Lake Barrington is excited to announce the next phase of construction, which brings us that much closer to realizing the benefits of this new business. We ask drivers to proceed with caution while driving through the intersection at Kelsey Road and Northwest Highway and to be prepared for minor delays through the completion of construction," said Lake Barrington Village President Kevin Richardson.
