Rosemont's Impact Field gets top honors in fan vote

Rosemont's new $63 million, 6,300-seat baseball stadium was chosen as best ballpark in the fan vote of an online baseball publication.

Impact Field, home of the new American Association of Independent Professional Baseball franchise Chicago Dogs, won Ballpark Digest's "Best of the Ballparks" vote in the independent league category. The stadium made it through five rounds of voting in which 32 ballparks were in the running. A total of 131,602 fans participated.

The village-owned stadium opened in May at the intersection of Balmoral Avenue and Pearl Street, west of the Tri-State Tollway.
