Good Shepherd's $247 million modernization remains on target

Work continues in full swing on the $247 million campus modernization project at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Lake Barrington.

The four-year project includes construction of a four-story addition to provide space for the hospital's switch to private rooms for all patients, a new main entrance and more convenient access to inpatient and outpatient services at the 36-year old facility.

Groundbreaking on the huge renovation took place in October 2013 and officials have said the project remains on schedule to be complete in the summer of 2017.

Other highlights of the project include new operating rooms and improvements in various departments throughout the facility.
