FVEC to host fundraiser event

BATAVIA - The Fox Valley Entrepreneurship Center will host its largest fundraiser of the year, ELEVATE, on Oct. 21 at the St. Charles Country Club, 1250 Country Club Road in St. Charles.

Guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner, networking with fellow entrepreneurs, a silent auction and enjoy live entertainment. The evening's keynote speaker will be Joseph James Slawek, founder, chairman and CEO of FONA International. Some of the center's graduates will speak about their positive experiences working with FVEC.

The event will unveil the first ELEVATE awards to showcase Fox Valley area businesses that are making strides and differences in their communities. Nominations are now being accepted in the following categories: "Entrepreneur of the Year," "Community Business of the Year" and "Innovator of the Year." A special award honoring the late Jim Brannen, FVEC founder, will also be presented.

"This fundraiser is the biggest event in the year and we want to public to come and not only support us but the small businesses that come into their communities and make their towns and villages desirable places to live, work, and raise their families," said Austin Dempsey, FVEC president.
