Dr. Charles Graham Woodward of St. Charles was honored by Northwestern Medicine with the 2017 Humanitarian Award. Dr. Woodward, an occupational health physician at Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group, is one of five staff members presented with awards for their extraordinary contributions to the community and embodying the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sharon Okoh, awards committee member, presented the award.

Spirit Rising Coaching provides coaching, mentoring and supporting youth, educators and teams to build skills and competencies to successfully learn, live, work, play and contribute within their communities.
Berwyn Tech Entrepreneurship Center, 2137 Oak Park Ave, has launched their "gym for business growth" that aims to be a hub for providing support services from technical assistance to mentorship at any phase of a business's life cycle including pre-start, startup, growth or transition. BTEC held a ribbon cutting in partnership with the City of Berwyn and the Berwyn Development Corporation.
