Learn about manufacturing careers at informational session May 22

An informational session on the Manufacturing Careers Internship Program will be offered on Tuesday, May 22.

It will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee.

The Manufacturing Careers Internship Program provides youth, age 18-24, an opportunity to explore meaningful and productive careers in manufacturing.

It starts with a one-week "Manufacturing Boot Camp" and ends with an eight-week paid internship at a local manufacturing company.

It provides mentoring, guidance, skills training, and the hands-on work experience needed to help youth transition into a rewarding career in manufacturing or to pursue additional post secondary education and training.

Developed by Business and Career Services in partnership with Medusa Consulting Group, the Manufacturing Careers Internship Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity through the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership.

For information, contact Arica R. Brazil, career adviser, at abrazil@bcsillinois.org.
