Recently the Oswego, Yorkville and Aurora Area chambers of commerce joined for a ribbon cutting for Family Counseling Service new office at 84 Templeton Drive, Oswego.
The Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hair Life, owned by Samantha Reinbacher. Hair Life is located at 56 Main St. in downtown Oswego.
The Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce attended an open house and hosted a ribbon cutting for Lennar - Seasons at Southbury's townhouses at 400 Shadowbrook Court, Oswego. Attendees toured two of the new townhouse models and learned more about Lennar.
The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated Mill Creek Early Childhood Program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mill Creek Early Childhood Program is a Reggio inspired nature and relationship-based early childhood program. Attending were Mayor Jeffery Schielke; Mill Creek's owner and founder, Ilana Marczak and her family; Batavia Chamber President/CEO Margaret Perreault; BEI Properties CEO Austin Dempsey; Batavia Main Street's Christopher Faber; chamber Ambassadors and members; and future students and their families.
Conor Commercial Real Estate and Kensington Realty Advisors recently opened North Avenue Commerce Center in Winfield. Conor, along with Choose DuPage and the village of Winfield, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the 265,550-square-foot, class A industrial facility, which represents the largest commercial development in Winfield's history.
The Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce attended an open house and ribbon cutting for New Horizons, 52 N. Adams St. in downtown Oswego New Horizons is a not-for-profit organization that has service projects to help the economically disadvantaged. They offer spiritual retreats, discussions, reflections and more.
Former Will County Sheriff Paul Kaupas recently paid a visit to the Silver Cross Hospital heart team that saved his life earlier this year. His wife Barbara and daughters Joellen and Jana also attended. Kaupas, who spent 41 years in law enforcement, suffered a massive heart attack in January and had to be resuscitated nearly a dozen times. But his Silver Cross heart team never gave up on him, and he and his family are forever grateful he was given a second chance at life.
The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for chamber Member Smoothie King, 22 E. Chicago Ave. Suite 118, Naperville.
Through its "Subaru Loves to Care" initiative, Grand Subaru, 125 W. Grand Ave., Bensenville, recently donated blankets, craft kits and numerous care cards to Elmhurst Hospital's Nancy W. Knowles Cancer Center. This is the fourth year of the program, in which Subaru is partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to donate blankets and messages of hope from Subaru customers to patients, along with arts and crafts kits for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Webster-Hoff Corp.'s Cathleen Lucas, manufacturing design engineer, and Liaquat Babul, vice president technology, accepted an Award of Distinction in the Hardware/Appliance Category of the 2019 Powder Metallurgy Design Excellence Awards Competition. The award was given to the Glendale Heights-based company for a ratcheting lock, part of the locking mechanism in an adjustable office chair arm.
Impact Sports Rehab & Chiropractic recently held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its new location at 39 Stonehill Road, Suite E, Oswego. Their new expanded facility offers parking directly in front of their offices and easy access.
Romeoville Mayor John Noak was honored with the CommunityWINS award in the small city category for economic development initiatives from the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Wells Fargo. In addition to Noak's recognition, a $75,000 grant was awarded to Lewis University in support of its Lewis Innovation Hub.
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting at the new Xfinity retail store at 152 S. Gary Ave, #103, Bloomingdale. Store manager Ron Vindell and Mayor Franco Coladipietro cut the ribbon.

The Chicago office of CBRE and the Chicago Cubs recently hosted the 12th Annual CBRE Charity Bash at Wrigley Field. The event raised $500,000, with all net proceeds benefiting numerous local charities. The event included Cubs manager Joe Maddon, Cubs legends Ryan Dempster and David Ross, as well as Jon Lester, Cole Hamels and Kyle Schwarber. IT is the fourth year that CBRE and the Cubs have partnered on the charity initiative, which has raised a total of $1.85 million.
Recently the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce presented a Membership Plaque to the Kendall County Juvenile Justice Council at the Kendall County courthouse. KCJJC's mission is to prevent delinquency by effectively utilizing community resources to assist at risk youth and their families and to provide you the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Edly-Allen met with Smalley COO George Nesbit and Barbara DiMonte from the Illinois Manufacturers' Association to tour the facility and discuss the company's future plans for expansion.
