Lavelle Law expands mergers, acquisitions practice

SCHAUMBURG - Lavelle Law is expanding its business law practice group that focuses on mergers and acquisitions.

"We have handled mergers and acquisitions, and the buying and selling of businesses for many years," said Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "We have always considered M&A work a part of our business law efforts, but because of our strength in the area, and our ability to offer comprehensive services, we feel it is time to accentuate our offerings to the broader business community."

McGinn said Lavelle has dedicated practice groups in banking, employment, bankruptcy, litigation and tax law, so it can utilize attorneys with extensive experience in each area to minimize risk and ensure that all aspects of the deal are covered.

"What is important is that the deal be structured properly so that impediments to success are identified and addressed," McGinn said.

Lavelle Law has added attorneys with backgrounds in areas such as securities law and ESOPs, making the firm even more adept at handling complex M&A scenarios, McGinn said.
