MCC Store to hold grand reopening of remodeled space

The McHenry County College Store has gotten an exciting facelift. The newly renovated store features an inviting, open entrance and modernized display window, expansion of shopping space and offices, the addition of fitting rooms to try on apparel, and an updated, fresh look.

The renovations were initially completed in summer 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the renovated store has been closed temporarily, with online and pickup orders being the primary shopping experience since that time.

The MCC Store is celebrating its official grand reopening on Monday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. During that time, guests are invited in to explore the new space and enjoy exclusive savings, giveaways, refreshments, and more.

During any shopping experience in the store, customers can expect a custom assortment of supplies, technology, clothing, gifts, and more - items that reflect both student interests and national trends.

"The MCC Store is excited to once again open our doors to students, community members, and our employees," said Alma Wilhelm, MCC store director.

"Beyond course materials such as books and supplies, the store has a variety of fresh new apparel and other merchandise to be a one-stop shop for both students and staff," she said. "We are proud to offer an array of items that reflect the community's pride in MCC."

Summer store hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. The store is closed Fridays in July.

The MCC Store is in Room B162 at MCC, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Orders can also be placed online anytime at mccbookstore.mchenry.edu/.
