Nothing Bundt Cakes in Vernon Hills plans opening events

The owners of Nothing Bundt Cakes in Vernon Hills are planning grand opening events for the store that opened earlier this month.

The store is at 701 N. Milwaukee Ave., Suite 312 in the Rivertree Shopping Center.

Dorothy Sisnett and her husband, Jevon, own of the shop. Gayle Himel, who grew up in the Vernon Hills, Libertyville area, is the general manager. She has raised four children in Vernon Hills.

"I am elated to be opening in such a supportive community and thrilled to be bringing a Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery to our manager's hometown," Dorothy Sisnett said.

Sampling, a ribbon cutting and giveaways take place at various times from Thursday, Dec. 7 to Saturday, Dec. 9.

The bakery features cakes that are made with fresh eggs, real butter and cream cheese, in 40 unique designs and 10 flavors. Sizes range from bundtinis - bite-sized bundts - to larger bundts and even tiered cakes, which serve up to 26 people.

Founded in Las Vegas in 1997 by longtime friends Debbie Shwetz and Dena Tripp, Nothing Bundt Cakes specializes in offering celebration solutions. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the company now has 233 bakeries in 34 states plus Canada.
