Vote expected Tuesday on Dominick's site plan in Rolling Meadows

Rolling Meadows aldermen Tuesday will consider a developer's proposal for 115 townhouses on a portion of the former Dominick's site in the city's downtown.

The city council will take a first reading vote on Ryan Homes' petition to rezone the rear 9 acres of the 11-acre site at 2819-2915 Kirchoff Road from commercial to residential, preliminary approval to subdivide the front commercial portion, and preliminary approval of a planned development.

The planning and zoning commission on Dec. 20 issued mostly negative recommendations against the project, but most aldermen gave favorable reviews during an early 4-1 straw poll vote in September.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of city hall, 3600 Kirchoff Road.
