Mariano's to open in Crystal Lake Tuesday

A new Mariano's is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. Tuesday at 105 Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake.

Customers will find new highlights at the store including Oki Sushi, Todds BBQ and made-to-order juices and smoothies at Squeez'd. The store also will have a Starbucks, gelato, fresh meat and seafood grilled on site, and a gas station on site.

The store will create abouty 350 jobs for the area.

It's the first Mariano's in McHenry County.

The grocer replaces a Sears, which was demolished in April 2017.

Customers also can use ClickList, an app that lets them order groceries for pickup or delivery. "When our doors open tomorrow, customers will find unparalleled customer service and unique restaurant-quality amenities all in one location, whether you want to eat here, grab something on the go, or find the fresh ingredients to prepare a meal yourself," said Don Rosanova, president of Mariano's.

In celebration of the Crystal Lake location opening, Mariano's will donate to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, the Crystal Lake Public Library for its summer reading program, and the Crystal Lake Park District.

Mariano's, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co., was founded in 2010. It operates 44 locations in the Chicago area.
