B.Good to open first of 3 suburban locations in Vernon Hills

B. Good, a fast-casual restaurant chain featuring natural and locally produced ingredients, is opening the first of three suburban locations next week.

The Boston-based chain, known for its locally sourced burgers, bowls, salads, smoothies and more, said it will open its Vernon Hills location Thursday, Oct. 25, at 875 N. Milwaukee Ave. in the new Mellody Farm shopping center. The store will have between 12 and 14 workers, the company said Friday.

Openings will follow in mid-December in Naperville at Springbrook Prairie Pavilion, 2555 W. 75th St. and in Schaumburg at Woodfield Gatherings, 1721 E. Golf Road.

Founded in 2003, the company said it serves “food with roots” — sustainably grown and prepared in house. B. Good said it is partnering with local companies including Bobtail Ice Cream Company and Gotham Greens, both in Chicago; Russell Costanza Farms, in Michigan; MightyVine, in Rochelle; and Highland Baking Co. in Northbrook.

“We have always wanted to be in Chicago, and in looking at our growth plans, the timing was right. We found the Chicago market has been underserved when it comes to locally grown, healthy fast-casual options, and I am excited to introduce B. Good and all we have to offer to help fill that void,” said B. Good CEO Chris Fuqua. “Whether customers want a seasonal salad, a burger and fries, a healthy spin on spaghetti and meatballs or a smoothie, we have options they can feel good about eating — and giving their kids. I am thrilled to expand to this new market and bring Chicagoans food made with great tasting, high-quality ingredients — and partner with local farmers to make that happen.”

B. Good has 70 locations across the globe, with more than 50 in the U.S.

Grand opening celebrations at the local stores will feature live music, smoothie samples and prize giveaways. Kids can eat free with the purchase of an adult entree, a promotion that will continue for the first few months after opening. Following the initial offer, the promotion will run every Tuesday and Thursday.
