Hilton's boutique Rose Hotel opens in Rosemont

Rosemont's first "boutique" hotel grand opened this week, and it's the closest one to O'Hare International Airport - save for the one on airport property.

The Rose Hotel Chicago O'Hare, a five-story, 165-room hotel, is one piece of the $75 million The Pearl District mixed use complex south of Balmoral Avenue and west of the Tri-State Tollway. The hotel, part of Hilton's new Tapestry Collection brand, was developed by Riverwoods-based Janko Group, which was given land and $3 million in tax increment financing district funds by the village. It's the first new construction hotel in the hotelier's Tapestry portfolio.

Rooms and the lobby are decorated with contemporary art, and amenities include 5,000 square feet of meeting space, a bar/restaurant and fitness center.

The hotel opening follows the opening of Carmine's and Truluck's Seafood Steak & Crab House last month in The Pearl, and Dave & Buster's in April.
