Fortune Brands creates trade scholarships

DEERFIELD - Fortune Brands Home & Security has partnered with City Colleges of Chicago to create a new Skilled Trades Scholarship.

The scholarship aims to create a pipeline of skilled tradesmen and women to help address labor shortages in the housing and construction markets, which are critical to Fortune Brands' business. The scholarship provides full tuition for students pursuing an Associate Degree or certificate in the school's construction-related programs.

The first group of 14 recipients are pursuing degrees or certificates across Construction Management and Carpentry, Plumbing and HVAC.

City Colleges of Chicago is the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation, with more than 4,000 faculty and staff serving more than 80,000 students annually at seven colleges and five satellite sites. Fortune Brands has partnered with City Colleges through the Company's Fortunate Giving program.
