Christi's Sweet Cafe opens in Barrington

BARRINGTON - Chef Christine Radulescu recently opened Christi's Sweet Café, an artisan pastry shop featuring French/American pastries and desserts, at 121A Barrington Commons Court, Barrington. Christi's Sweet Café is a pastry shop featuring muffins, scones, croissants, cinnamon rolls, carrot cake, brownies, cupcakes, pies, tortes, tarts, handcrafted caramel corn, toffee, turtles, peanut brittle, as well as dog treats. Special occasion cakes are also available by pre-order. Chef Christine brings a passion for food and a deep resume to the new cafe. Her professional career has included stints at the Sofitel Hotel, the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, and The Signature Room at the 95th. Since January 2014, she has been a Baking and Pastry Instructor at the College of Lake County, teaching fundamentals of baking to aspiring pastry chefs. Chef Christine will celebrate with a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. Dec. 11.
