Two accounting firms combine as Dowell Group

PALATINE - Certified Public Accountant firms Dowell Group, LLP and DeMarco, Kinnaman, Lewis & Co. announced they are combining their businesses and will operate under the name Dowell Group LLP.

The new 33-member firm provides tax, accounting, audit, and consulting services to businesses, individuals, trusts, estates, retirement plans, and nonprofits. Operations will be consolidated at the Palatine offices of Dowell Group. On a transitional basis, the firm will also maintain an office at the former Lincolnshire location of DeMarco, Kinnaman, Lewis & Co.

As a combined firm, it will be able to broaden its service offerings, provide more technical expertise in a number of areas, and continue to attract quality professional staff. All of the owners of DeMarco, Kinnaman, Lewis & Co. will join the executive ranks at Dowell Group, with Mike DeMarco joining as a principal, while Don Kinnaman, Ron Lewis, and Brian Keslin will join as partners. All staff members will also join Dowell Group and will continue to serve their existing clients.

Greg Dowell, managing partner of Dowell Group, said the two firms have been discussing a merger for about two years.

Mike DeMarco, managing partner of DeMarco, Kinnaman, Lewis & Co. added the two firms share "a strong set of shared values with the professionals."

Both firms have been in business for more than 25 years, earning a reputation for providing outstanding services to a broad and diverse group of clients.
