Advocate Sherman receives '100 top hospitals' honor

ELGIN - Advocate Sherman Hospital has been named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by IBM Watson Health.

The study spotlights the top-performing hospitals in the U.S. based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available clinical, operational and patient satisfaction metrics and data.

Advocate Sherman is one of only two large community hospitals in Illinois to make the list and one of only six hospitals in the state to achieve this honor.

Advocate Sherman also earned the Everest Award, which honors hospitals that have achieved both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years. Advocate Sherman is the only Illinois hospital to make this list and one of only 15 hospitals in the nation to receive the honor. Advocate Sherman is one of only four U.S. hospitals to receive the Everest Award this year and last year.

"Being recognized as one of Watson Health's 100 Top Hospitals is an honor that reflects our commitment to providing safe, high-quality and cost-effective care for our patients," said Linda Deering Dean, Advocate Sherman Hospital president. "This recognition also demonstrates our focus on making our community healthier."
