Olivera named to FALA Chicago board

Cozen O'Connor attorney Elizabeth Olivera, an associate in the firm's Commercial Litigation practice in Chicago, has been named to the board of directors of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago.

In addition to her general duties as a FALA Chicago board member, Olivera will be primarily responsible for community outreach between the association and the local law schools, helping to coordinate mentoring and networking opportunities with law students.

Olivera is a first-year associate, participating in the firm's litigation pool. The litigation pool allows new associates to sample assignments from multiple different practice areas prior to determining which practice group to join at the end of a one-year term. Since joining Cozen O'Connor in September 2018, she has performed commercial litigation, subrogation, labor and employment, and corporate transactional work.

Prior to joining Cozen O'Connor, Olivera was an extern to the Honorable Timothy A. Barnes, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois. She received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law (J.D., 2018), where she was an associate editor of the DePaul Law Review and served as the Student Bar Association vice president, secretary and a first-year senator. She received her undergraduate degree from Drake University.
