Itasca company moving global headquarters to former Motorola site in Schaumburg

Itasca-based The Boler Company plans to relocate its global headquarters to a new eight-story office building on the former Motorola Solutions campus in Schaumburg next year, village officials announced Tuesday.

"We are thrilled The Boler Company will be located in the Veridian Development, which is poised for significant redevelopment to further strengthen Schaumburg's reputation as one of the region's largest economic centers," Matt Frank, the village's economic development director, said in a written statement. "The village welcomes the addition of this global headquarters and its long-term investment in the community as it will bring quality jobs along with millions of dollars of new economic activity to the region."

Plans indicate the company's new headquarters will feature an eight-story, 180,000-square-foot office development with a parking garage on a 4.2-acre site just north of Zurich North America's headquarters. It's expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2020.

"It validates what we've been talking about with progress through thoughtful planning," Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson said, citing the village's tagline. "The building itself is supposed to be spectacular."

Future development planned on the same site includes two additional office buildings totaling 270,000 square feet for other companies.

The Boler Company is the parent company of both Hendrickson Holdings and Anchor Harvey, officials said. Hendrickson is a worldwide manufacturer that lists heavy duty suspension systems for commercial vehicles among its product line, Anchor Harvey is an aluminum forging company that serves a variety of industries.

Three previously approved projects are being prepared farther to the west on the 225-acre Veridian Development. They include a Topgolf entertainment center, a 260-unit apartment building and a 110-unit assisted living and memory-care facility.

The ultimate goal of the Veridian Development, which stretches south and west from the corner of Algonquin and Meacham roads, is to create a dense, urban-style mix of stores, multifamily residences, restaurants, office buildings, entertainment venues and more.
