Texas storms push Allstate April catastrophe losses to $290 million

NORTHBROOK - The Allstate Corp. said Thursday catastrophe losses for the month of April 2019 of $290 million.

Catastrophe losses occurring in April comprised seven events at an estimated cost of $259 million, plus unfavorable reserve re-estimates of prior period catastrophe losses. Two wind/hail events, primarily impacting Texas, accounted for approximately 70% of April event catastrophe losses.
