ATI to provide sports medicine services for university

BOLINGBROOK - Park University has selected ATI Physical Therapy to be the college's official sports medicine provider, the company announced.

Under the agreement, ATI will provide Gilbert, Arizona university with athletic trainers and sports medicine services to further strengthen its sport programs at the Gilbert campus.

ATI's athletic trainers are certified and licensed health care professionals. Full-time athletic trainers will cover practices and home games for all sports. Services provided include injury education and prevention programs, conditioning program development, emergency medical care, rehabilitation, therapeutic massage and nutrition programs.

Overseeing the program will be ATI's Kristin Shaefer, ATC. Shaefer graduated from Aurora University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in athletic training. She began her career working with the Chicago Public Schools' football programs and a competitive cheerleading club. Shaefer also spent four years covering all athletics at Plainfield North High School, providing the highest quality of care to the student athletes.
