Middleby acquires Synesso

ELGIN - The Middleby Corp. announced it has acquired Seattle-based Synesso, a designer and manufacturer of semi-automatic espresso machines for the commercial market.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

The company has quickly grown to $10m in revenues, company officials said. Synesso machines are known for robust and innovative design, as well as for being energy efficient, low maintenance, easy to operate and allowing users precise control of pressure and temperature for a superior espresso.

"Synesso is a highly innovative brand and further expands our coffee and beverage platform," said Tim FitzGerald, CEO of Middleby. "Middleby is well-positioned within the beverage category offering some of the most advanced equipment in today's fast-growing coffee market,

"Our Seattle-based coffee companies are able to provide operators with a variety of sought-after options including automated bean to cup, cold brew, nitro brew, traditional carafe and now semi-automatic espresso," he added.
