Two auto dealers honored for philanthropy

ELMHURST - Two suburban auto dealer owners were among 49 nationwide that are nominees for the 2020 TIME Dealer of the Year Award presented by Ally Financial.

Dan Roesch of Larry Roesch Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Elmhurst has made it his life's mission to raise funds to battle cystic fibrosis. He started Dylan's Dream Team, in honor of his son who was diagnosed with the disease, with the focus of providing funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Chicago.

Terry D'Arcy of D'Arcy Buick GMC in Joliet has coupled his business success with support of important organizations such as the Mark Staehely Pediatric Cancer Foundation, ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter, Wish Upon a Star, Special Olympics Illinois, Guardian Angel Community Services, Liberty Arts Festival, and Joliet Area Community Hospice.

As nominees, they will receive $1,000 from Ally to contribute to the 501(c) 3 charity of their choice. If they are named finalists at February's national NADA Show in Las Vegas, they will receive an additional $5,000 to contribute, and if one of them wins, they will receive an additional $10,000.
