AmpliVox holiday party raises eye cancer funds

NORTHBROOK - AmpliVox Sound Systems' annual holiday party for employees, vendors and guests raised funds for the Eye Tumor Research Foundation.

The foundation is devoted to research in eye cancers and eye tumors. To assist in this effort, 20% of the party's food and beverage sales, as well as voluntary contributions by attendees, were donated to the foundation.

"ETRF does a stellar job studying the cause and treatment of eye tumors and cancers," said AmpliVox CEO Don Roth. "Since losing my wife Nancy to this disease last year, I'm honored to have helped this magnificent organization work to prevent suffering by others."

Don has arranged a special fund in memory of Nancy, to support national research into the immunology of how cancerous ocular cells metastasize (spread to other parts of the body), as well as local research on the prevention and treatment ocular oncology under the direction of Dr. Bruce Brockstein at Northshore Health System in the Chicago area.
