American Community Bank names new leaders

American Community Bank has appointed Rick Francois president and Andy Hartlieb CEO of the Woodstock-based financial institution.

Both Francois and Hartlieb were among the original organizers of the Woodstock-based bank in 2000, with Francois being a co-founder. Bank officials in a statement said the appointments are part of its long-term succession plan.

Francois is a 25-year veteran in the financial services industry, with a focus on privately held and family-owned businesses. In addition to president, he will continue in his current role as chief credit officer.

A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Francois graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa, earning a degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance.

Through board positions and volunteer roles, Francois serves The Church of Holy Apostles, Illinois Bankers Association, Woodstock Economic Development Commission, United Way of McHenry County, Independence Health & Therapy, Veteran's Salute, and Gavers Community Cancer Foundation.

A native of Woodstock, Hartlieb holds a degree in Business Administration with a double major in finance and marketing. He also graduated from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking.

Hartlieb is a founder, vice president and current board member of the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation and serves at St. Mary Parish on the youth mininstry team.

American Community Bank has assets of more than $600 million and operates five Illinois locations.
