LIBERTYVILLE -- Grand Marketing Solutions announced it has acquired Barton Event Management for an undisclosed sum.
GMS officials said the acquisition adds virtual event strategy to the company's portfolio.
"We call it Virtual Engagement," said Karl Hofmeier, president of GMS and BEM. "No one really knows how long social distancing will be around so it's time to take a fresh look at a true event solution."
BEM President Alexander Barton will join GMS as director of events.
"Our advance planning model has always included a virtual component," said Barton. "Now with increased restrictions on live gatherings, we have developed a scalable, virtual model to increase audience participation and engagement for events of any size."
