CCU, employees help Northern Illinois Food Bank
WAUKEGAN -Consumers Credit Union and many of its employees have teamed up to raise $20,000 for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
The credit union donated $10,000 to the food bank, while its employees are working together to raise another $10,000 for the organization.
"In the current environment, we recognized early on that many lives would be turned upside down by the impact of COVID-19. We immediately contacted Northern Illinois Food to determine the best way to help," said Sean Rathjen, CEO of the credit union.
"Once our employees learned of our donation, many wanted to help individually, as well," he added. "This resulted in our employees coming up with a goal of matching our $10,000 donation on their own."
