Tourism groups promote Illinois Road Trips

SCHAUMBURG - Sixteen tourism organizations around the state are working together to attract visitors to safely visit their communities by providing weekly inspiration for road trips.

Market Illinois, a group of marketing professionals from across Illinois tourism organizations, are collaborating to promote all that Illinois has to offer through a weekly blog, "Illinois Road Trip Round Up." Every Tuesday following Memorial Day to Labor Day, the organizations will share one trip idea from their region on a timely theme, starting with top biking and hiking trails.

"We continue to celebrate 'All In Illinois' and we know promotion is stronger when we work collectively," said Dave Parulo, President of Meet Chicago Northwest. "Tourism will continue to be a strong economic driver for our state as we begin phasing into reopening and this is an ideal time to spread the word of Illinois destinations as one voice."

Recognizing that areas of the state will be in different stages of reopening, topics will always feature a destination that is currently accessible and safe for public visitation. Future topics may include outdoor picnic spots, top golf courses, farmers markets, and more. Travelers can follow along every Tuesday on the participating local tourism websites and social media channels.

In addition to Meet Chicago Northwest, local participating agencies include Chicago's North Shore, Discover DuPage, Aurora Area CVB, Explore Elgin Area, Visit McHenry County, Chicago Southland CVB, and Heritage Corridor CVB.
