Wagner named secretary of state chamber board

Daniel 'Dan' Wagner, senior vice president of government relations for The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc., has been named secretary of the board of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

Wagner will assist the chamber with compliance and have an active role in all major Chamber decisions as an executive committee member.

He currently serves as chairman of the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce. He has 16 years of experience in real estate and has served on numerous real estate industry, and governmental boards and committees, including as treasurer and president elect of Illinois Realtors and president of the Chicago Association of Realtors. He is a commissioner on the DuPage Airport Authority, trustee for The Conservation Foundation and board member for the Civic Federation of Chicago. He is active in the United

States Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Manufacturers Association, and Illinois Retail Merchants Association.

"Dan is entrenched in the Illinois business community and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to the Chamber," said Illinois Chamber President and CEO Todd Maisch. "We are excited to have him and his talents more involved with our organizational direction."

Wagner obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from Illinois State University (ISU). In 2015, the ISU Political Science Department honored him with their alumni award. In 2018, he received ISU's College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Award and the ISU Division of Student Affairs Steve and Sandi Adams Legacy Hall of Fame Award. In February of 2020, ISU honored him with the Alumni Achievement Award.
