McShane begins construction of new senior living development

ALGONQUIN - McShane Construction Co. has started construction of a new senior living development, known as The Oaks at Algonquin.

The Rosemont-based firm was selected by Spectrum Retirement Communities to provide comprehensive construction services for the 166-unit residence.

Designed by Vessel Architecture, the H-shaped building will accommodate independent living, assisted living and memory care units. Each independent living unit will feature a full kitchen, and assisted living units will incorporate a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. The three-story building will feature wood frame construction with an exterior of masonry, stone veneer, shake and panel siding and architectural shingles.

Completion of The Oaks at Algonquin is slated for January 2022.
