Lake Lawn Resort filled with a rich history

An interview with Dave Sekeres, general manager of Lake Lawn Resort in Delevan, Wis.

Q: Tell us a little bit about the venue/business.

A: Lake Lawn Resort is the ultimate destination meeting venue. Situated along 2 miles of shoreline on beautiful Delavan Lake, the team-building, meeting, dining, and accommodations possibilities are endless.

Q: Explain the history. How did it get started?

A: Lake Lawn Resort is home to a rich history that began long before Midwestern vacationers discovered its lakeside charms over 140 years ago.

It was home to the Mabie Circus, the largest in the country at the time. After the circus, the hotel was created. Many enjoyed dancing in our ballroom during the big band era. Generations have enjoyed our resort for weddings, vacations, reunions, and much more.

We still hear stories daily that were passed down to guests from their ancestors, and we feel privileged to have been the backdrop for so many special memories. Their memories are truly our legacy.

Q: What do you offer when it comes to corporate meetings, private parties, weddings, dining, golf, team building, weekend getaways, all inclusive, etc.?

A: With over 32,000 square feet of unique meeting space and an award-winning culinary staff, our full-service resort will exceed your needs for your next meeting, convention, or retreat.

We have an 18-hole championship golf course, a 9,000-square-foot spa, lakeside wedding and event sites, and the ability to help you host a memorable event.

Q: Describe the atmosphere. COVID safety procedures?

A: The sprawling resort occupies 275 acres, which makes it easy for guests to spread out throughout our grounds. We are taking many precautions and following the American Hotel and Lodging Association's Safe Stay Guidelines.

All public and nonpublic areas are cleaned and disinfected regularly. Hand sanitizer units have been installed throughout the resort.

We communicate with local public health officials regarding developments and best practices
