LIBERTYVILLE - Valent BioSciences LLC said it has signed a joint agreement with a Paris-based group to develop sustainable biopesticide technologies for agricultural applications.

The joint effort will be undertaken with the Technology Transfer Accelerator Office of the Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Polytechnique de Paris. The office funds researchers and research labs working on new technologies.

The partnership will focus on introducing emerging agricultural products that are environmentally friendly, effective and commercially viable, the company said.

Libertyville-based Valent BioSciences is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd.

"We continue to invest in promising new technologies that will change the game in sustainable agriculture," said Regina Rieckenberg, vice president of global marketing and business management for Valent BioSciences.
