Former Transportation secretary joins CDW board

LINCOLNSHIRE - CDW Corp., a leading computer and technology provider to business, government, education and health care customers, Wednesday announced the appointment of Anthony Foxx to its board of directors, effective Jan. 1.

Foxx currently serves as the chief policy officer and senior adviser to the president and chief executive officer of Lyft, a position he has held since October 2018. Prior to joining Lyft, Foxx served as the 17th U.S. Secretary of Transportation from 2013 to 2017, when he led an agency with more than 55,000 employees and a $70 billion budget.

Previously, Foxx served as the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, from 2009 to 2013, becoming the youngest mayor in the city's history and its second African-American mayor.

"The intersection of policy and emerging technology is dynamic and complex, and Anthony's experiences equip him to provide important insight and guidance as we continue to innovate for our customers," said Christine A. Leahy, president and chief executive officer, CDW.
