Lake Forest to welcome first hotel since 1929

LAKE FOREST - Janko Hospitality said The Forester Hotel, 200 N. Field Dr. in the Conway Business Park, is set to open in April. It will be the first hotel to open in the community since 1929, the company said.

The Forester Hotel will be a boutique-inspired, Hyatt Place hotel with an upscale bistro and bar and more than 4,500 square feet of flexible event space.

"Since Lake Forest has not welcomed a new hotel in nearly 100 years, we are excited for the opportunity to bring new offerings and become part of the community," said Marlena Karwowski, general manager.

The property will feature 156 guest rooms, including 10 suites. The Forester Hotel will boast three event rooms, including the Aster Room, the hotel's largest event space, which will be able to host up to 250 guests in its 2,232-square-foot space.

Its Oaken Bistro + Bar will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner under the direction of executive chef Kristen Burman, formerly of Limelight Catering and Anthology San Diego.
